UV Warnings This Summer

January 19, 2023

Summer is well and truly here and with it warnings of high UV exposure.  Automotive glass will only reject around 60% of UV rays and that includes the darkened privacy glass found on the rear windows many new vehicles.

A high quality film will reject 100% of UVB and around 98% of UVA rays (the UVB rays are the cause sunburn, but UVA can cause skin damage in the long term).  It is important when looking to tint your vehicle that you find a window film that is manufactured in the USA and comes with a lifetime warranty as is the case with all Mastertint films.

The darkest legal film (35%) will reject the same UV as the darker films so protecting your family and yourself from sunburn doesn’t mean you have to apply a dark film.  You can even have an almost clear film applied to reduce the UV if you do not want your vehicle to have darkened windows.

As the summer sun blasts our dry landscape and you find yourself getting a burnt right arm, give Mastertint a call or email us to get a quote to tint your car.  Not only will this improve your comfort it is better for your health and the health of anyone travelling with you this summer season.
